Brian is a founding member of Gallery West, a cooperative gallery in Alexandria, VA, former chairman of the Visual Artists Alliance, Prince George’s County, MD, and has demonstrated his sculptor techniques on NBC News.
As a participant in concentration summer programs at Penland School of Crafts:, Brian experimented with ceramic slips, under the direction of professional artist-ceramicist, Terry Hess.  Brian has seen a strong need for art in all media to be appreciated and understood, and he shares his passion with young people in encouraging their expressions in art.

Brian Maus, a resident of Clinton, MD, is a multi-media artist.  He received his Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture and ceramics from George Washington University, Washington, DC.  His master’s thesis entitled: “Totem Pole Carving: Sculpture of Identification,” is a study of the Northwest Coast Indian Sculpture.  Mr. Maus has recently revisited the totems in Alaska.

Primarily a wood sculptor, Brian’s creativity includes furniture design, as well as individual pieces, which have been exhibited at art galleries in the Washington Metro area and New York City.   His work encompasses artistic creations of pure form with a strong sense of original design.   Many patrons have commissioned him to do original creations from ideas of their own.
